According to a recent report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is estimated to launch a foldable iPad in 2024. According to Kuo, the next iPad will not be released this year, and mass manufacturing of the new iPad Mini will start in Q1 of 2024.
These iPads will be manufactured by Anjie Technology and will contain a carbon fiber kickstand at their back.
Apple will “continue benefiting from the growing trends of foldable devices, equipped with kickstands in the future,” said Kuo. It’s likely that the kickstand Kuo mentioned will be fixed in the iPad case since foldables can easily stand without the need for a kickstand. On the other hand, the foldable iPad might not be as stable and need a kickstand at its back for support.
While the tech giant is currently undergoing a 15 per cent decline in tablet shipments, analysts believe that the announcement of the first foldable iPad will be a big break for the company.
Every year, mobile technology increasingly becomes the very core of our daily lives and the epicenter of innovation.
With these essential devices, we create and consume content that connects, inspires and entertains us. We stay immersed in the world of an epic game, even on the go. We keep up with colleagues and deadlines when we’re away from our desks. And we manage every part of our lives in one convenient place — from health and wellness habits to appointments, purchases, travel and more.
Our days revolve around these experiences, so people want devices they can depend on from brands they can trust. At the same time, global challenges like the climate crisis are making us rethink how we live. We have a responsibility to help create a better world now while working toward a more equitable and sustainable future. We believe mobile technology can be the catalyst to enrich people’s lives and help create that future we envision. And this is the reason why we do what we do in Samsung Electronics.
Setting New Performance Standards
There’s no better example of Samsung delivering on this vision than the Galaxy S series. This year, Galaxy S series has extended our innovation heritage by doubling down on our fundamentals.
That’s why our pro-grade camera system is getting smarter, offering the best photos and videos in any light among our Galaxy smartphones. Along with the hardware and software optimization, our newest chipset, born out of Samsung’s open partnership philosophy, enables the fastest and most powerful Galaxy performance. Our ecosystem connectivity is also getting easier and more seamless than ever.
At the top of the Galaxy S series is our Galaxy S Ultra. It’s the product you can trust to give you the best of the best with redefined performance and quality.
We fully merged the most beloved Galaxy Note experiences into Ultra, pioneering a smartphone with the power, performance and creative capabilities of two leading Galaxy innovations in one.
The Galaxy S Ultra has truly become the pinnacle of Samsung Mobile’s innovation, a marque that stands out against everything else, and soon we’ll show you what Ultra can do in even more device categories.
Innovation That Lasts
Performance is not just about more power. It’s also about innovation that lasts with less environmental impact.
We are committed to combatting climate change, and we are guided by our new environmental strategy that strives to make the technology we depend on more sustainable. That’s why we consider every phase of the product lifecycle with sustainability top of mind.
This means building devices that last longer with enhanced durability and reliability. This means incorporating more recycled materials into more components. This means collaborating with like-minded partners to bring people closer together and deliver positive change for people and the planet while setting new benchmarks for our industry.
Premium Experience Without Compromise
On February 1 at Unpacked, we’ll show how innovation and sustainability working together bring the ultimate premium experience.
At a time when the stakes are higher than ever, we’ve raised the bar by pushing boundaries for the mobile experience — delivering our most powerful mobile experiences you’ll continue to love for years to come.
Twitter proclaimed Sunday it would no longer allow users to promote their accounts on several rival social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram, but the site’s mercurial owner Elon seemed to backtrack on the new policy just hours later.
The sudden shift in the rules was the newest in a series of contentious changes made by Musk since he took over the company in October — upheaval that has led a growing number of users to encourage followers to view their posts on other sites.
The random billionaire even put his future as Twitter’s CEO to a vote.
“Should I step down as head of Twitter?” he tweeted, asking the site’s users to click yes or no.
“I will abide by the results of this poll,” he added, with the vote open until the early hours of Monday.
Twitter had proclaimed that the company would “no longer allow free promotion of specific social media platforms.”
“At both the Tweet level and the account level, we will remove any free promotion of banned 3rd-party social media platforms, such as linking out (i.e. using URLs) to any of the below platforms on Twitter, or providing your handle without a URL,” the company explained in a statement.
Users would thus be barred, for example, from posting “Follow me @username on Instagram,” Twitter said.
Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey questioned the new policy with a one-word tweet: “Why?”

Instant messaging application WhatsApp has announced to launch three new privacy features including the ability to hide your online status from particular contacts.
According to details, the application would provide its users with the ability to exit WhatsApp groups silently, and block screenshots for “View Once” images.
WhatsApp head Cathcart and Meta Chief Mark Zuckerberg announced the new features.
The application has announced to provide its users with the ability to hide their online status. Previously, users had the ability to hide their ‘Last Seen’ which has now been extended to ‘online’ status too.
Moreover, the users will be able to hide their ‘online status from particular contacts too. Users could choose to completely hide the last seen online status from everyone, only unknown numbers, specific contacts, or from nobody.
A new “Who can see when i’m online” feature will be added under the last seen settings, with two options – ‘Everyone’ and ‘Same as Last Seen.’
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has amended the currency declaration rules for passengers travelling to and from Pakistan in a bid to modernise the declaration regime.
The FBR’s SRO1751 of Customs, issued on Tuesday, directs incoming passengers to declare the amount exceeding $10,000, and outgoing travellers to declare the amount that is $5,000 or beyond.
Dawn reported that travellers could declare currency manually at the customs counter, or they can do the same electronically through the customs system. Passengers can also file declarations remotely through the online operated WeBOC system.
The publication reported that since the forms are available online, no traveller will be checked while they pass through the green channels at Pakistan’s airports.
Previously, the FBR did not add the provision of currency declaration for passengers, according to a Customs official, but now, they have included it in line with best practices adopted by most countries.
Talking to Dawn, Member Customs Mukarram Jah Ansari said that the new order will modernise the country’s regulation rules as earlier, the passengers were bound to even declare small amounts.
In India, incoming travellers have to declare $5,000 and in the United Kingdom, inbound and outbound passengers have to declare cash when it exceeds $10,000.
A survey revealed that TikTok has become the fastest-growing news source for adults in the United Kingdom (UK), reported The Guardian.
The UK’s communication watchdog reported that 7% of adults use the short video platform for news, while in 2020, the figure was 1%.
Ofcom’s annual report on the consumption of news in the country showed that teenagers aged 12-15 replaced BBCOne and BBC Two with TikTok and YouTube.
Ofcom’s director for strategy and research Yih-Choung Teh said that teenagers were highly unlikely to pick up a newspaper. They keep up-to-date by scrolling through social media platforms.
The most popular official news sources on the platform include the BBC,Sky News, and ITV.
With one billion users globally, TikTok is a huge platform owned by Chinese tech company ByteDance.
In the US as well, a quarter of adults say they always use TikTok for news. Almost half the millennial and Gen Z public do the same, an analysis by Forrester Research showed.
However, a senior research associate at the Reuters Institute for the Study Journalism said that people looking for news seriously did not use TikTok. He said that it was used to get news related to celebrities and other non-serious issues.
Even in the Ofcom survey, only three out of 10 people considered TikTok a trustworthy source of news.
The CEO of Instagram Adam Mosseri revealed that the application will shift towards video content over time, however, it will continue to support photos as well.
Mosseri’s statement came following the negative feedback from celebrities Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, saying “make Instagram, Instagram again” and that it was becoming more like the famous video-sharing application TikTok.
“Now, I want to be clear, we’re going to continue to support photos. It’s a part of our heritage,” Mosseri said in the video message on Twitter.
“That said, I need to be honest, I do believe that more and more of Instagram is going to become video over time. We see this even if we change nothing,” he added.
Giving a clarification over concerns from the users, Mosseri said that the “Full-Screen Feed” is a test for a few percentages of people and it is not just for videos, but for photos too.
However, he said that this feature is “not yet good”.
“We have to take it to a good place if we’re going to ship it to the rest of the Instagram community,” added the CEO.
👋🏼 There’s a lot happening on Instagram right now.
I wanted to address a few things we’re working on to make Instagram a better experience.
